Technology

It is the mission of Mary Queen of Peace to prepare students  spiritually and academically.  One area of focus is the age of rapid technological advancement.  Mary Queen of Peace has made a conscious dedication to technology by assuring that both students and staff have access to the technical resources for success.

Here are some of the highlights of the school’s current technology infrastructure:

1. Mobile wireless laptop labs at each building provide students with technology in their classrooms.  Students have the capability for research and schoolwork preparation right at their desks. 
2. Traditional computer labs are also available in each building.  These labs are dedicated to instruct Grades Kindergarten thru Eight about major software applications, typing skills, and computer-based educational websites.   
3. Smart boards are positioned throughout both campuses.  These presentation devices allow teachers to teach material where students can interactively participate. 
4. The school uses AlphaSmarts and scientific calculators. These data entry devices allow students to work on projects without the distraction of the Internet.
5. All software, including Microsoft Windows and Office, are up to date with the most current versions.
6. Both campuses  are connected via a high speed T1 line to allow communication and collaboration between the staff.
7. All student record tracking and grading is electronic.  This allows for more accurate reporting of students’ progress to parents/guardians.
8. The Mary Queen of Peace website gives both students and parents up to date information on school events and activities.

As technology evolves in the years ahead, Mary Queen of Peace will continue to invest resources in order to prepare students for the future.
